Why hire a sidewalk cleaning service?

Curb appeal

Whether you are buying your selling a home, curb appeal is one of the more influential factors in the process. Keeping your sidewalks clean contributes to your home’s curb appeal.

One of the duties that our employees at Goshen Pressure Washing do is to make sure your sidewalks are nice and clean. To help you achieve great curb appeal, here are some tips you can follow to ensure your sidewalks are clean and great-looking.

How to clean sidewalk without pressure washer

The first step in this process is to gather all the materials you will need to do a great job. You will need bleach, water, a garden hose, a pump sprayer, a broom, or a long-handled brush.

The next step is to sweep the sidewalk with the broom to get rid of the loose dirt and other debris. When that task is done, mix your water and bleach together with 2 parts water and one part bleach.

Place in the pump sprayer and pump the mixture onto your sidewalk. Make sure to saturate the sidewalk and then let it sit for about 20 minutes. Finally, take your garden hose and spray the mixture off the sidewalk.

Cleaning concrete with vinegar

There are people who do not want to use bleach as their go-to sidewalk cleaner. That is okay as there is a very strong alternative. You can use vinegar to do the same thing as bleach and still have nice looking clean sidewalks.

Just repeat the steps above to get your sidewalks clean. However, there may be some tough stains that won’t come off so easily. That is when you use a long-handle, hard bristle brush to scrub those tough stains.

The vinegar should not hurt your vegetation and is safe for pets and children. Do not be alarmed if your cleaning options require more than one application. Some stains are very hard to remove.

How to clean sidewalk without killing grass

There are many options available for you to use that will not kill your grass. Some of these applications will require you to use them before your sidewalk gets too dirty:

  1. Natural cleaners
  2. Power washer- use the lowest setting
  3. Sweep the dirt off regularly
  4. Sand and a broom- scrub hard
  5. Weed killer that does not harm grass
  6. And more

You can also use bleach but you will have to dilute if very well so that it is not strong enough to kill grass. When you do that, the bleach may not be strong enough to clean the sidewalk.

Some additional words

When you do not have the time to implement these cleaning options, call our office today. Goshen Pressure Washing employees know all the tricks of the trade and can get your sidewalks clean in no time.

Plus, they can get those sidewalks clean without killing your grass. In addition to that, they know how to use a pressure washer surface cleaner effectively so the only thing harmed on your sidewalks is the dirt and the debris. Call us today to get a free estimate.
